| District Rep |
Any incoming, outgoing, or active past Al-Anon or Alateen
Group Representative (GR) who is willing to represent the
district at area world service committees (AWSC) and area
assembly and who is not also a member of AA, is eligible to
serve as DR. A DR should have a basic knowledge of
Al-Anon and Alateen Traditions, the Concepts of Service, and
how they work.
The GRs in the district elect the DR. The DR assists the
Delegate in passing on information about World Service Office
(WSO) activities and World Service Conference (WSC) decisions
to the GRs in district. The DR is a member of the AWSC.
- Calls and chairs district meetings, at regular intervals
- Helps to disseminate Conference information and reports
- Keeps in touch with the group representatives in the district and represents their views to the Area World Service Committee or the Delegate.
- Helps groups in the district (especially new groups) receive necessary information and help
- Helps groups in the district understand and apply the Traditions
- Prepares a current mailing list of the district’s group representatives in the district for the Area World Service Committee
- Encourages groups in the district to return the group data sheets that are sent out by the World Service Office each year
- Checks with the group representatives to be sure the group mailing address is current
- Checks that the groups are receiving and sharing mail from the World Service Office
- Attends World Service Committee meetings and reports on activities within his/her district
- Notifies the Area World Service Committee and the World Service Office of groups that have disbanded

Steps up in case DR not able to attend the District Meetings, or complete his or her term.
Also heads up the district's Group Outreach program.

An Alateen Coordinator is someone who is able to use the Al-Anon principles when assisting ALATEEN Sponsors and ALATEENS with problems or concerns arising in their perspective groups and/or district by using CAL literature, Bylaws, WSO Service manual, WSO Guidelines and NCWSC Binder.
Also, it is suggested that the Alateen Coordinator have a strong Al-Anon program with regular attendance at group meetings and reading of CAL literature and be or have been involved as an ALATEEN group Sponsor or Coordinator in their local district.
Additionally, patience, tolerance, acceptance and most importantly a lot of love for ALATEENS, Sponsors and Coordinators is one of the many aspects of this position.

- Three year commitment
- Experience in the program of vital importance.
- Coordinator does not need to be a group representative.
- The institution coordinator receives guidance and support from the district.
- Establish meetings by contacting staff of the location and enrolling with WSO.
- Attend the institution meetings, or insure attendance by members of Al-Anon. (1-2 hours a week)
- Attend the monthly district meeting.
- Pick up literature from the literature office and deliver to the meeting(s). (One hour every 3 months)
- Attend annual H&I conference, if possible.
Currently, there is an active meeting at P90 in San Mateo and progress is being made in establishing meetings in the County jails. In the past, meetings also were held in the Maple Street Shelter and VA hospital.

The Meeting List Coordinator’s main function is to keep the Meeting List current and ensure that there is an ample supply of copies for meetings and events.
Job Description:
- Update the Meeting List document with any changes as they come in.
- Print copies of the Meeting List every quarter and bring them to the monthly Business Meeting for distribution to Group Representatives. Usually 1,000 copies are printed every quarter.
- Print copies of the Meeting List as needed or as requested.
- Receipts for paper and printing may be submitted to the District Treasurer for reimbursement.

Public Information is a part of Public Outreach which also includes our website and Outreach to Institutions. The Public Information Contact person fields calls from people who are looking for meetings or have questions. This is however only a small part of the service. We also reach out to schools and service organizations, sending meeting lists and participating in health fairs.
One of our members on her own has been putting Al-Anon pamphlets in her local library on a regular basis which is also under the Public Information umbrella. There is no dedicated committee at this time but committees are formed to work on Health Fairs, etc.

Quarterly Speaker Meeting

- Finds an Al-Anon meeting (group) to host the meeting
- Finds a speaker(s)
- Creates a flyer
- Turns over 7th tradition + the income from the Bake Sale to the district and the Saturday night meeting as agreed.

- Makes sure that the Answering Service company has the latest meeting list.
- Reports to the group on calls received and calls needed call backs.
- Reports to the group and the treasurer the monthly cost for the service.

- Makes sure that the district's website reflect the latest changes to the meeting lists on the site.
- Updates the site with the latest events, flyers, newsletters etc.
- Printout the website usage statistics for the Monthly District Meeting
- Makes sure that the links are correct and active on the site.
- Confirms to the guidelines setout by NCWSA

- Chairs the monthly business meeting in an orderly manner
- Prepares an agenda for the meeting
- Calls Steering Committee meetings as necessary
- Signer on the district's checking account

- Maintain checking and savings accounts for District
- Write checks each month to pay District expenses and donations (e.g.,
literature, rent, telephone, WSO, NCWSA, etc.)
- Make deposits (e.g. donations from groups, Day-in-A-l anon registrations)
- Track transactions in Quicken
- Report on financial activity at District meeting
- Renew financially-related contracts as needed (e.g., insurance)
- Maintain files with back-up receipts and other records
- File taxes
- Pick up mail regularly

Takes the minutes of the business meetings and maintains a permanent record to be passed on to the successive secretaries. Makes copies to pass out at the next business meeting for approval.
